mollywood Question = Does Android’s marketplace work via the browser or is it blocked outright?
https://market.android.com/

what is the OS on it, officially, and is it allegedly a true Android OS or some other version they forked? can you look that up in their settings? wait… can you even _get_ to the settings?

mollywood: There’s a complaint about the weight for it’s size. Is it that noticeable?

“wigginman kyle wiggington
@mollywood im torn between the fire or nook 2″

“earthdog Rich Thomas
@mollywood @donald Can you run Android Apps from Unknown Sources on the Kindle Fire?”

mollywood, audiodonald Question: I saw people talking about side-loading apps not in the market. have you tried this? is it just download packages and install them?

“LeeLoiChieng Lee-Loi Chieng
@mollywood @donald Q:Is it worth it if you already own an iPad?And is it a very region locked device as in are most of the services US only?”

“DFp127 Daniel F. Panessiti
@mollywood Does Kindle Fire have ePub compatibility and what kind of wireless? 3G and Wi-Fi Or just Wi-Fi?”

“Doug Salter – How does he compare the Fire to the new Nook Tablet? (faster processor and twice the memory)

Does he see this device as a serious competitor?

Does he feel he is a serious competitor to the iPad?

Where do users get help / support for the Kindle Fire? Online only? Return policy?”

“David Siebert – 1. What important apps can the fire not run? RDIO, Spotify, Cnet, Twitter, Facebook, and so on.
2. Can you side load apps like I can on my Android phone?
3. How does the browser handle sites like CNet and theverge.
4. Runtime.”

David Wollmann – +Doug Salter The iPad isn’t all that compelling to me, as far as I’m concerned it’s just hipster bling. The $200 Fire, on the other hand, hits the price sweet spot. I would prefer a Fire model with LTE and Bluetooth, but I’ll make due with Android hotspot when I’m mobile.

“kialowinters Kialo Winters
@mollywood Question for @donald – Will the form factor or hardware sustain daily abuse by elementary students daily?”
