Buzz Out Loud 1546: Apple needs an iChain for its prototypes (Podcast)

The plot thickens on the lost iPhone prototype story: was there a police report? Did police escort Apple employees to a suspect's house and then stand by while those employees searched the place? Did Apple really not have security for its prototypes before the job listings they just posted? But the real question we have for everyone today is this: What is wrong with George Lucas and who will put a stop to his endless "Star Wars" tinkering!?

So if amazon is going to sell a heavy subsidized android tablet in the near future. What’s then going to happen with all the other android tablet makers?

Amazon can afford to sell at a loss because of future sales. But other manufacurers can’t.

So, what will happen, any table below $300 is dead because the sale goes to amazon, and above $300 they’ll go for an ipad?

What’s your thoughts on this?

Hey Buzz crew! This is Matt in SF. Haven’t missed an episode since Feb 2006. Though this is my first time emailing.

Regarding Friday’s episode #1545, the Netflix and Starz’s breakup: I don’t understand why Netflix won’t consider fees for access to Starz content… I see this as the first step towards the online, a la carte TV service I’ve been hoping for!!

I don’t care about Starz specifically, but if Netflix can strike a deal with Starz, then why not with HBO or Showtime?

I cut the cord at the beginning of this year and the two things I most miss are (1) HBO / Showtime original programming and (2) Giants games. If I could get Game of Thrones / Dexter / Weeds / etc. on Netflix close to its first air date, and if MLB gets a clue and lets me stream the Giants, I’d never even think about Comcast again.

You guys are awesome – thanks for the show!

Matt
