I'm listening to episode 1538 and your discussion about whether or not the $99 Touchpad affected the market. Regardless of whether the entire consumer market now expects $99 tablets (and obviously they do). I think the more important factor is that approximately 500,000 POTENTIAL BUYERS were just taken off the market. I personally have lusted after an iPad or Galaxy Tab since they came out but can't justify the $4-500 price when I already have an iPhone for my couch and/or mobile surfing needs. Obviously there was pent up demand for tablets at a lower price point, but the entire tablet market just shrank by HALF A MILLION CUSTOMERS! Not to mention all of us who bought Touchpads are now on an island and not in the iOS or Android world (until they port Ice Cream sandwich to the Touchpad) . If google were smart I could see them assisting the dev team trying to port Android because Google is just all about the clicks. What an easy way to pick up 500,000 customers!

Just my thoughts!

As always, Love. The. Show.

Hey Buzz Crew, I just thought I’d put in my two cents on the mobile phone outage due to overuse after the earthquake. I work in DC and immediately following the earthquake I was unable to make any calls from my phone (from Verizon), however, I was capable of making/receiving calls through Google Voice integrated through google chat to let my family know that I was okay. Until Google decides they’re going to stop providing/supporting Voice it will remain my version of a land-line.
