Buzz Out Loud 1505: Thomas Dolby blinds us with genius (Podcast)
On today's show, special guest Thomas Dolby drops in to talk with us about the state of the music industry and digital distribution, his new album, and the amazing sounding MMORPG that goes along with it. We're pretty overwhelmed by his brilliance. But we recover a bit for tech news, like Hulu's 1 million paid users (and imminent death), and whether the Droid Bionic can catch up to the Atrix 4G.

Hey BOLers,
I thought I would let you guys know how I got into google+ without an invite… just download the app in the android market! I picked up an EVO 3D over the weekend (loving it!) and was perusing the market last night when I came across the google+ app. I figured I would download it figuring I would get into google+ sooner or later and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the app and was prompted to link my google account! As of this email the app is still there so if you are an android user you can get into google+ without waiting for an invite!
Love the show!

Hey Buzz Crew,
I don't normally watch the local news, and today assured me why. Yesterday, my low expectations were completely underwhelmed by the Facebook announcement. This morning, while watching the local news, I got excited when they started in with some rare tech news. It was about Facebook. Excited to hear another source lambaste ol Zucky for his pathetic ""math dance"", I set breakfast on hiatus. Then, I almost spit Cocoa Pebbles all over my new laptop as these tools gushed about how Facebook was ""changing the game"" and ""forever altering how we do social media"" by introducing video chat.
As I stewed about this for the next five minutes and swore off local news for the last time I wondered if these people had been living under a rock. Then it hit me…yes…yes they have been…and unfortunately most of my relatives over 50 are under that same rock. I will never get my grandma to install Skype, and quite frankly, I don't want to help her troubleshoot it. But she's already all up in my Facebook biz. So while it pains me that this really is ""awesome"" news for some people, at least I can video chat with people under the rock.
Love the show,
Luke in Denver
ps- I know it may not be as flattering as having a child named after you…but I'm just not to that stage in life yet. So here is my brand new puppy, Molly :)
