dear Buzzcrew,
I have a question about Amazons and Googles cloud music servers. I was in college when Napster was cool but in time came to the right side of the law and pay for my media now. But my music library is so twisted now, that it is simply impossible to separate what is legit music from what is not. What are the legal implications if I choose to upload my entire collection to either Googles or Amazons service. Will exposing my ill-gotten music increase my risk of getting caught for past transgressions?

Hey Buzz Crew

Ep 1470 you had a listener ask what service you use to get music. I prefer to buy directly from artists sites when I can. I just bought The Dwarves new album Are Born Again at http://www.thedwarves.com (nsfw) for only $8, and I could get not only any format (mp3 320b, apple lossless, flac, ogg, more) but I could get it multiple times in multiple formats. And it’s 27 tracks.

Keep Rocking

Hey BOL Crew,

I received a letter from my children’s school yesterday that I found a bit disturbing. It appears that their school will not have a talent show this year for fears of being sued. I don’t know if this is a Board of Education decision or a decision by the school

WHAT THE WHAT?! You have to be kidding me? I find this to be absurd. Not on behalf of the school, but because of the fear of litigation that may come from some elementary students singing or dancing to a song. What the hell has RIAA done to us? It’s not like this is even a big city school. This is a school in a very rural part of a very rural county in the middle of Kentucky!

SCREW YOU RIAA!!!

David
