Buzz Out Loud 1452: Judgement Day is coming! (Podcast)

Skynet is self-aware and special guest Brian Cooley is flying to space to get off this rock. SPAM and an underground man cave seems like a better option for BT. We'll also talk about the revelation that Apple is tracking our location data, but not using it...yet. Kindle users will like going to the library if they even go at all, and we can now officially call the Sony PSPgo the "No Go".

EMAILS

Got a little phone redirect story for you.
I was working in Tech Support for Verizon a few years ago, and someone had called for help with their Brother printer and fax machine.

So I called 1-800-Brother without looking it up, and was greeted by a rather husky voice, that…. well, let’s say that they didn’t offer to help with printer problems or fax machines.

I hung up and then went to find the actual number, and that was slightly different, an 866 number, I think.

Normally I don’t check, and just assume the number is fine. Dear god, how many people did I send to phone sex!?

Hey Buzz Crew,

This is Jimmy the Microbiologist, calling in to highlight a bit of science you may have overlooked the other day.

The trans-cranial stimulation story came out a little while ago, but not relating to solders. Instead, they had test subjects solve matchstick puzzles and then introduced a new set of puzzles that required a “”novel discovery.”" The group with the stimulation proved to be 3 TIMES as good at making that discovery and solving the puzzles.

The idea is to suppress the “”logical side”" of the brain so that it is forced to send tasks to the “”creative side,”" bolstering one’s ability for novel ideas.

I’ll let you guys ponder the implications of this “”thinking cap”" (I’ve already done so in my latest short story).

Love the show

Facebook DOES allow you to upload videos from your phone. If you dig in your facebook account’s mobile settings, you will find a email address. Send a message to it, and the subject becomes your status. Attatch pictures or video, and the subject becomes the caption. Been using it for a year now since the facebook appLICATION sucks on android.

Happy uploading

-Dustin
