Dear Buzz crew,

T-Mobile’s plans may not impose a megabyte limit each month but they do limit the download speed after 2GB, so you can’t really call them unlimited, can you?

Here in Australia, a major phone company tried to do just that for cable & ADSL internet services. They lost that battle. More info at http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/972768/fromItemId/142.

Hey Buzz Crew,

Just wanted to comment on power and water throttling. I live in South Florida and we have been under water restrictions for what seems like forever. Now there is no restriction for water usage in the house (Just a higher bill for more you use) but outside I can only water my lawn twice a week. If I water my lawn on the wrong day I can get fined. The water patrol has been pretty active over the last 2 years. As for power I have my AC and water heater hooked up to a device that will shut them down during peak hours. I have a credit on my bill each month for having this device. Also can’t power companies impose a brownout to avoid a blackout? I know these are not the same as throttling by an ISP but these methods are still ways to throttle usage of utilities.

Molly,
Apple has never licensed software, what makes you think they would start now? Also, if you were the TV manufacturer working to integrate Apple TV software, could you imagine the hoops Apple would make you jump through? They’re not going to let you advertise you have “”Apple Inside”", if the hardware isn’t beautiful.
Sounds like a horrible relationship to be avoided at all costs, easier to sell an Apple TV bundled with a remote that could operate both…

COMPUTER LOVE

In episode 1447 (yes catching up):

When it comes to TV/TV3-D debate. I haven't watched TV in 5½ years and I haven't been to see a movie in the theater in over a year. I made this choice when Comcast raised cable prices after the digital switched (which was a scam). I like my gadgets more than I like TV content and I find I don't miss it. As for movies it's WAY too expensive for me to go, about around $30 per person in my area. I wait for movies to come out on DVD & rent them from the library (make money from this MPAA). I spend my time actually outside with living life with my gadgets. I'm also one of the people who won't buy a new TV anytime soon because I can't see 3-D. Besides mine works just great for me tubes & all for my Wii. Is it anti-tech to not watch TV or go see the latest movies? My brother says this is why I'm having problems finding a girlfriend because I can't discuss the most recent movie/TV show. Molly do you agree with this? Or does it matter to Geeky women?
