I dislike the term "app" as a descriptor for mobile software, but I understand the need to identify software designed for mobile devices. Might I suggest "Mobileware". This follows the existing standard as a derivation of the word software.

Hi Buzz Crew,

I am responding to an email that was read yesterday about teachers being cut and yet there is still an influx of technology in these schools. Generally speaking, most technology in schools are funded by grants through either private foundations, the state, or even federal funds and these funds cannot be used by the school districts to fund teacher salaries. Therefore, even though the budgets are being cut for teachers, the districts can still provide technology to their students without taking away from teacher salaries.

I thought it was funny that you guys where made the comment that the Boy Scouts where finally catching up with the future. Back when I was in scouts we had merit badges for data processing, nuclear energy, chemistry, astronomy, ecology, and aviation to go along with ones for camping, fishing, swimming, first aid, and so on. BTW that was back around 1977. Boys Scouts has had a long history of embracing technology as well as the classic skills. They also have one for geocacheing. In other words we better hope that we have a few Eagle scouts to rebuild society after the zombie apocalypse. Molly

Do we have a good definition to what “”data throttling”" means for the end user? After I reach my data cap and go into throttled Internet speeds. Will I still be able to check email, but Facebook? Facebook but not Pandora? Pandora but not YouTube?

Will I even notice at all or will I just blame it on crappy service?
