Buy one NetTalk Duo landline replacement, get one free

Similar to the MagicJack but better in almost every way, the NetTalk Duo provides unlimited calling for a price that's almost too good to be true.

Happy Black Friday! Hit the comments and share the great deals you scored today--and how long you had to stand in line for them.

At $70 for the hardware and one year of phone service, the NetTalk Duo is already a killer deal. Here's your chance to get a second unit free.

Tired of paying a monthly bill for home phone service? Of course you are! So ditch it. If you have broadband Internet, you can switch to a voice-over-IP service and save a small fortune.

The NetTalk Duo is one such option. You buy the little gizmo for $69.95, connect it to your router, plug in any corded or cordless phone, and presto: you've got unlimited local and long-distance calling for one year. Each additional year (not month, mind you--year) costs $29.95.

In honor of Black Friday, you can buy one NetTalk Duo and get a second one free. (Use coupon code BLACKFRIDUO at checkout.) If you happen to miss out today, don't fret: you can get the same deal on Monday with coupon code CYBERDUODEAL.

Update: Make sure to add two Duos to your shopping cart.

Comparisons between the Duo and the MagicJack are inevitable, but the Duo has one key advantage: because it plugs into your router, it eliminates the need to leave a PC on and running.

The Duo also offers a few nice features the MagicJack lacks. In addition to caller ID, call waiting, and voice mail, you get three-way calling and the option of having voice mail messages delivered via e-mail (a feature I positively love).

Update: The MagicJack does indeed offer voice mail via e-mail. I'd confused it with the Ooma Telo Basic, which doesn't.

The only real downside is that you can't port your existing phone number to it.

Thanks to this BOGO deal, you can grab a Duo for yourself and give the second one as a gift!

Bonus deals: So many to choose from! Amazon has the Roku XD box for $67.99 shipped. Also at Amazon: the Seagate Expansion 1TB external hard drive for $49.99 shipped--no rebates required! And, finally, Borders will cut 40 percent off the price of any item with coupon code BUG8901L.
