It seems perhaps Bill Gates has sparked a flood of charitable feelings among his fellow billionaires. Warren Buffett, financial savant and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has announced , with the lion's share going to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The exact amount is unclear (it's based on stock valuation), but as of today, most outlets are reporting that it's roughly $37 billion. The amount will more than double the size of the foundation, and, frankly, I think we can expect the Gates Foundation to start literally saving the world any minute now. Gates and Buffett? Looking like the next two candidates for sainthood. Just for purposes of amusing comparison, it was reported last week that Larry Ellison still hasn't given Harvard the $115 million donation he promised them last June (leading to three layoffs). Hey, somebody's got to keep populating the Forbes billionaire list, right?
