<b>TechTool Pro 1.0.5 (Mac OS 8 compatible) is now out

MicroMat has released the Mac OS 8 compatible version of TechTool Pro (v. 1.0.5). Users updating to this should also be sure to get the DNA 010 Update. The freeware Mac OS 8 compatible version of TechTool (1.1.5) has already been out for several weeks.

The new version also adds the ability to save Get Info Comments when rebuilding the desktop.

For what it's worth, when I used TechTool Pro 1.0.5 to test my Mac OS 8 System and Finder files, it reported that my Finder was fine but that my System file was damaged. As the program notes, it is possible that a report of damage may be due to legitimate changes to the file. I will soon reinstall a new version of the System file and see what happens. I have not yet tried to zap the PRAM or rebuild the desktop with this new version.
