<b>Symantec's AutoStart worm update is now available

From Symantec: "There is a new Macintosh worm called 'AutoStart 9805'. New virus definitions for SAM 4.5.x are available on-line to detect and remove this worm.

The AutoStart 9805 worm affects only PowerPC based systems. The worm spreads via QuickTime's AutoPlay feature and can corrupt files ending in .dat, .cod, .csa, and .data. The worm will attempt to spread to any mounted HFS or HFS volume. Using the new virus definitions, SAM Intercept will detect the worm whenever it is launched. The SAM Application will detect and remove the worm from all infected volumes."
