<b>StuffIt Deluxe: multi-user serial number problem and and .sea segmenting problem

CNET staff
I continue to get reports ofvarious problems with StuffIt 4.5. These two seemed the most solid and of the greatest interest:

Multi-user serial numbers Bryan Schappel writes: "The installer for StuffIt Deluxe 4.5 does not correctly support multi-user serial numbers. The code to recognize the 'DLXS' numbers was left out of the new installer. It seems that the multi-user numbers are treated as single-user numbers. Only one copy may be run at a time. Aladdin was able to reproduce the problem on their network. I was told that a fix was coming in a few days."

No .sea segmenting Owen Linzmayer writes: "If you create a large self-extracting archive (.sea) and then try using the StuffIt Deluxe 4.5 application to segment it, there's a checkbox in the standard file save dialog box for making the segments self-extracting, too. But regardless of this setting, you end up with a non-self-extracting archive, despite its (.sea) extension. The work-around is to create a large archive (.sit) and then segment this."
