The Register reports that businesses in the UK are broadly baffled by the mess of acronyms and specialized terminology used to advertise high-speed Internet services. The result is that many businesses aren't getting what they need.

I'm shocked. The technology world is usually a model of linguistic clarity. Like ISDN, DSL, utility computing, CDMA, 2.5G. Who needs Finnegan's Wake?
