Microsoft's tech support article #Q184839, titled, Optimizing Your Macintosh System Configuration, offers some fairly standard advice on how to get the best performance out of your Mac when using Word (or any other application for that matter). "To do this, you can make adjustments to your system software (extensions, and fonts), and hardware configuration (processor type, speed, amount of memory, and available hard disk space)." The article goes on to provide the details.

One surprise was the following quote: "If you are using RAM Doubler 3.0, Virtual Memory is unnecessary." The document is dated May 4. Is this a typo? Or does Microsoft know something about a forthcoming and as yet unannounced RAM Doubler 3? (Thanks, Derrick Pohl.)
