Entry-level ZTE Prestige beckons first-time smartphone owners on Boost Mobile

The entry-level the ZTE Prestige became Boost Mobile's latest phone on Thursday, targeting first-time buyers with a low price. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the Prestige sells for $50 with a limited-time promotion. After January 3, 2016, it'll sell for double that, $100.
While smartphone vendors battle it out on the high end, companies like ZTE need to aggressively slash prices on the low end to help push volume through the holiday season.
Outfitted with a 5-inch display and 5-megapixel camera, the Prestige has a 2-megapixel shooter on the front that's designed for selfies.
Although the phone only includes 8 gigabytes of internal storage, the microSD card slot gives users a little bit of breathing room with support for up to 32GB of external storage space for media such as pictures and video. There's a relatively low-powered 1.1GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM.
Boost Mobile is a prepaid wireless operator utilizing Sprint's voice and data networks.
