Blurry/fuzzy projector output

Blurry projector output can be due to a resolution mismatch.

CNET staff

Some users have reported blurry or fuzzy output when using digital projectors with some Macs.

MacFixIt reader Tim Ligget writes:

"I am using a NEC model VT460 projector in my class room and no matter what setting I put the display on, the words seem to be slightly out of focus (using PowerPoint)."

Note that blurry or fuzzy images in this scenario can be caused by a mismatch in the resolution of the host Mac's video output and that used by the digital projector. Try toggling the screen resolution (in the Display pane of System Preferences) and see if one setting provides a clearer image. You may also want to consult your projector's manual for available resolution settings and attempt to match it with that of your Mac.

If you are experiencing a similar issue and have tried changing resolution settings, please let us know.
