BlackBerry teases new Storm, Curve or Torch today?

We know there will be at least one new BlackBerry announced today -- but will it be a touchscreen Curve, revamped Storm or top-of-the-line Torch?

BlackBerry is promising a "shiny, new and social all over" phone will be launched today. Late last night, BlackBerry's Facebook wall and Twitter feed lit up with the news that we'll see "new devices" with the lastest BlackBerry 7 operating system on board.

Based on the company's leaked roadmap, we've got our fingers and toes crossed for the BlackBerry Storm 3, an all-touchscreen follow-up to the Storm and Storm 2.

The gossip is that the Storm 3 -- which has leaked under the name Monaco -- will have a 1.2GHz processor and 8GB of memory built in. The screen could be the highest resolution ever from BlackBerry, packing 480x800 pixels into a 3.7-inch display.

Or could the news be all about the BlackBerry Torch 2? The successor to the Torch would undoubtedly sport a touchscreen and a slide-out keyboard, but we'd also expect serious speed from the new flagship of the BlackBerry brand.

Rumour has it that the Torch 2 will have a 480x640-pixel screen, a 1.2GHz processor and a 5-megapixel camera.

A third contender for today's launch is the BlackBerry Curve Touch, which BlackBerry calls "the accessible all-touch BlackBerry". Translation: it's a cheap Storm. A 3.3-inch screen, 800MHz processor and 5-megapixel camera keep this phone, codenamed Malibu, within reach.
