Black Friday begins early online

This could be the biggest holiday yet for online shopping, with several retailers offering week-long sales online. Also, tablets look to be a hot tech gift for 2013 and the FDA orders 23andMe to stop selling DNA testing kits.

CNET Update avoids the crowds:

In this episode of Update:

- Skip the mania at stores, since Amazon and otherretailers are starting Black Friday sales early online.

- Avoid the $5 delivery charge on eBay Now if you live in one the few areas the same-day delivery service is offered.

- Expect tablets to be a hot tech gift this holiday, according to CNET's annual shopping survey.

- Give an Amazon Prime membership as a gift, but don't plan on giving a 23andMe DNA testing kit -- the FDA ordered the company to halt sales.

- Add another large smartphone to Samsung's lineup with the Galaxy Grand 2.
