From the Read Me file A complete reading of the Read Me file that comes with G3 Macs reveals some interesting tidbits (thanks, Bob Schulze). For example:

RAM Disk "The RAM Disk on the Power Macintosh G3 computer will be reinitialized on every restart or reboot. Any data you have stored on a RAM Disk should be copied to the hard drive before a restart or shutdown." Other recent Macs save RAM disk data across restarts; data is only lost when you shut down.

PC Compatibility card The Apple PC Compatibility card with 100MHz Pentium processor (12 inch card) is not supported by the Power Macintosh G3 computer.

Monitors stay on at shut down? Reader Peter Gilford writes: "A problem, confirmed by Apple Tech support, is that the monitor AC outlet in the back of the the G3 minitower does not cut power on shutdown so attached monitors must be shut down manually."

Update: A couple of readers dispute this report. Their monitors shut off just fine.

Sleep problem? MacInTouch discusses a possible Sleep problem (the unit will not sleep) with the G3 minitowers.
