Looking to snag Samsung's new Galaxy S5? You can shave $100 off the price at Best Buy by trading in your old phone.

A new promotion that started Sunday, May 18, and runs through Saturday, May 31, guarantees a $100 trade-in credit for any working smartphone. Available in-store only, the credit is good toward a Galaxy S5 from AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon and is applied when you purchase and activate the phone.

The S5 requires the usual two-year agreement with the carrier of your choice, while the smartphone you trade in must power on, be free from water damage, and show no cracks in the screen.

Verizon subscribers can also save $50 off any Galaxy S5 via a sale that runs concurrently with the trade-in deal. Combing both promotions brings the price of a Verizon S5 down to $50.

Meanwhile, those of you hankering for an iPhone instead can once again take advantage of a $200 trade-in credit at Best Buy. From May 18 through May 31, consumers who trade in an iPhone 5, 4S, or 4 and upgrade to a 5S or 5C will get up to $200 and more in credit toward the purchase of the new phone. Best Buy initially offered this same deal earlier in the month for just a single weekend but said it decided to extend it based on a positive customer response.
