<b>Epson 800 and Nisus Writer conflict

Two readers (Lewis Phelps and Tom Ritch) report a similar problem: the Epson Stylus 800 Chooser extension conflicts with Nisus Writer. The exact symptom is a system crash (typically an "unmapped memory error") whenever a cut, copy, or paste command is executed (perhaps only when the Clipboard was not empty).

Lewis worked around the problem by using Birmy PowerRIP (which does not require the Epson driver in order to work). Tom, using a Power Mac 7200, works around the problem by manually keeping the Epson driver out of the System Folder until he is ready to print.

Update: Theo Maschas had the same problem. He solved it simply by selecting another printer from the Chooser (such as the StyleWriter 2500) until he needed to print. Then he selected the Epson driver. He also notes that he notified Epson about this issue a month ago and has not yet received a response.
