<b>DaynaPort PCI Ethernet crash when accessing CD-ROM discs running Mac OS 8.1

The machine will lock up when accessing the CD-ROM, sometimes when accessing the hard disk. This seems to be limited to when AppleTalk is active and the Ethernet port is selected. If you make the modem or printer port the active AppleTalk port, you can continue to have a TCP/IP connection without crashing. Dayna tech support confirms this and state they are working on a fix. In the meantime, the work-around is to not have the Ethernet port selected when using CDs. Just turning off AppleTalk, but leaving the Ethernet port selected, is not sufficient."
