A good text editor is a must for people who edit formatted text files such as plists, html, and other code files. While there are a plethora of text editors out there that each have their unique benefits, a popular one I use all the time is TextWrangler from BareBones software. It is free and has just been updated to version 3.0.

TextWrangler is a stripped down version of the powerful BBEdit text editor, and is quite useful for everyday coding and editing of text files. In this latest version BareBones has added a slew of new features, many of which are particular to the type of code being edited, but with a few additional commands and interface features. The list of additions can be seen at the TextWrangler 3.0 Release Notes page.
