Back to the Future: The Original Jaguar XJ Sedan

After seeing the 1988 and 2009 Jaguar XJ sedans in action, here's a blast from the past - the first Jaguar XJ sedan.

In keeping with the "Salute to Jaguar" theme for this week, I thought it would be neat to give you all a blast from the past with this video featuring the very first Jaguar XJ sedan ever produced.

This vintage video comes from the 1968 Earl's Court Motor Show, and the Jaguar XJ6 is shown right at the beginning of this video. 1968 marks the first year that the Jaguar XJ sedan is produced, and the XJ series would go on to become Jaguar's flagship make/model. As you can see, the Big Cat and it's features have changed a lot over the years, yet retains the signature style that (for the most part) Jaguar would continue to keep for years to come. Still, I can't help but wonder what it would be like to drive that old cat around the English countryside. Sigh...
