Previously, we reported a claim that the PowerBook 3400 includes ATA Manager 4.0 (and that this relates to why the 3400 may not be subject to slow downs linked to virtual memory on Macs with IDE drives running 7.6.1). However, Massimo Mauro points out that, at least according to the listing in Apple System Profiler, the 3400 has ATA Manager 3.0.3. Hopefully, I will get further resolution of this issue soon.
