LG launched the handset with a 13-megapixel camera in South Korea recently, but the original information from LG Australia, which we reported in our preview of the phone, indicated that the Australian variant would have an 8-megapixel resolution sensor instead.
In the image above, you can see a product sample that LG showed us recently, where the 8-megapixel module's lens is flush with the glass battery cover on the phone. The updated model will have a slight bulge around the lens to accommodate the higher-resolution camera.
The phone, which is already on sale in South Korea and soon to be in the US, will be in Australia in Q1 2013. The handset will be one of the first smartphones in Australia to use the new quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro chipset, which includes 4G hardware built in to the chipset, rather than as a separate component.
