Audi designs futuristic car for Ender's Game
Ahead of the 31 October cinematic release of Ender's Game, Audi has revealed the Fleet Shuttle Quattro, a virtual car designed just for the film.

Ahead of the 31 October cinematic release of Ender's Game, Audi has revealed the Fleet Shuttle Quattro, a virtual car designed just for the film.
Whatever you think of upcoming sic-fi film Ender's Game, based on Orson Scott Card's 1985 novel, Audi has made a pretty interesting contribution. The car manufacturer has designed a super space-age concept vehicle for the International Fleet.
The Fleet Shuttle Quattro, sleek and aerodynamic, is the first purely virtual Audi car created for a film. Working with director Gavin Hood, the company applied its automotive expertise to create a plausible, yet futuristic sci-fi machine that could integrate with the Ender's Game universe.
"Designing the Audi Fleet Shuttle Quattro was comparable to tailoring a made-to-measure suit," said Frank Rimili, chief designer for the film project. "We adapted it to the requirements of the world in Ender's Game and, at the same time, ensured that we preserved our brand values. Ultimately, we were able to project our design philosophy perfectly onto the fictional world of the movie."
The two-door car's capabilities haven't been enumerated — since it's digital and only appears in a few scenes in the film, we're going to assume that part isn't really important — but its design seems to have been at least partially inspired by the RSQ, the (real) car designed by Audi in 2004 for the film I, Robot; in particular, the car's smoothed lines and covered wheels.
We don't think we're going to see any actual production of the car, but if Audi wants to incorporate some of its design elements into its future vehicles, we certainly won't be complaining.
