AT&T getting mid-range HTC Desire 610, report says
Rumor is Ma Bell could soon debut an HTC smartphone that doesn't fall under the One family of phones.
AT&T may be the first, if not exclusive, US carrier to offer support for the mid-range HTC Desire 610 smartphone. According to reputable Twitter source @evleaks, the Android-powered handset is bound for Ma Bell.
In a summer filled with flagship releases and hardware heavy smartphones, it's easy to forget that not everyone wants (or needs) a monster in their pocket. That's where a device such as this one comes in handy.
The HTC Desire 610, which was first introduced in February, is a plastic-clad version of the One series of phones. With slightly less power under the hood it's not unlike what Apple does with the iPhone 5C.
Powered by Android 4.4 KitKat, the Desire 610 features a 4.7-inch 960x540-pixel display and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Under the hood we find a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage. Like the flagship "One" line, this one also features HTC's custom apps, services, and enhancements.
It's unclear how soon AT&T could offer the Desire 610, however we hope for sooner rather than later.
