On Monday, AT&T Wireless introduced the Nokia Surge, a Symbian-based smartphone aimed at all you social butterflies out there.

Equipped with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Surge offers a suite of messaging capabilities (Oz Email 2.8 for personal accounts and Mail for Exchange 2.9) and comes preloaded with JuiceCaster so you can post messages, updates, photos, and more to social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.

In addition, the smartphone offers a full HTML Web browser with Flash support and supports a number of AT&T services, including AT&T Navigator, AT&T Mobile Music, and AT&T Video Share. The quad-band, 3G-capable Surge also has a 2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, a microSD expansion slot, and a 2.4-inch QVGA display.

The Nokia Surge will be available starting on July 19 for $79.99 with a two-year contract and requires a monthly voice plan of $39.99 or higher and a $30 data plan.
