Alongside a range of Zen-branded devices, Asus has also revealed details on the Transformer Book Duet and a Windows 8.1 tablet.

The Transformer Book Duet TD300 follows in the footsteps of the hybrid Transformer Book Trio that was announced at Computex. This time upping the flexibility stakes to allow the device to switch between Android 4.3 Jellybean and Windows 8.1 with minimal delay. Select to change the operating system from the on-screen or physical button, and within 4 seconds they will swap.

In terms of specs, the TD300 comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM and its 13.3-inch touchscreen boasts a resolution of 1920x1080. The tablet component has a 128GB SSD while the keyboard docking station adds a 1TB hard drive. Expandable microSD memory can be added to the screen up to 64GB.

When pieced together, the TD300 weighs 1.9kg, though the bulk of that is made up by the keyboard dock. The tablet itself is light enough for reading and productivity purposes without weighing you down. There's a slightly textured grip at the back of the tablet as well. Expect the TD300 to arrive in Australia from Q3 2014, and though no local pricing has been made available, it will debut in the US at US$599.

Also new from Asus — arriving in Australia in February — is the Vivo Tab Note 8. This is an 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet powered by an Intel Atom Z3740 processor and 2GB RAM. Asus says that the tablet has 8 hours of battery life, plus there is 64GB of internal storage with the option to expand out by another 64GB via microSD.

The tablet also comes with an integrated Wacom stylus which offers over 1000 levels of pressure sensitivity. An optional sleeve is available to protect the tablet. As a standalone product, however, the Vivo Tab Note 8 will be AU$449.
