The 12.1-inch Asus Eee Slate EP121 is the André the Giant of the tablet world. We filmed a hands-on video with the Slate so you can see just how large it really is.
The humungous Asus Eee Slate EP121 is the André the Giant of the tablet world. It can be hard to tell just how huge this whopper is from photos, though. That's why we sent the Giant Haystacks of CNET UK, Rich Trenholm, off to shoot a hands-on video with it.
The Slate packs a 12.1-inch touchscreen, runs Windows 7 and comes with just about every accoutrement you could wish for in a tablet. Key features are two USB ports, an HDMI socket and an SD card slot. It even has a stylus, although you won't need to use it, as the capacitive touchscreen is on the best of terms with phalanges.
Like the British Bulldog, the Slate should pack a punch when it comes to performance, thanks to a dual-core, 1.3GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB of RAM. It will be available with either 32GB or 64GB of solid-state storage.
All that power comes at a price, though. The Slate's battery will probably only last for a couple hours before it conks out. That means the Slate isn't a tablet for taking on the road, especially since holding it up for any length of time will probably make your arms hurt, like a crucifix armbar from Jake 'The Snake' Roberts.
We'll have a review for you before you can say, "Shut up about wrestlers!" In the meantime, check out our preview, and then amuse yourself with a video of Hulk Hogan and André the Giant attempting to settle their beef.
