Asante FriendlyNet firmware update

A reader informs us: "Asante sent me a new 1.87E firmware update for Asante's FriendlyNet Cable/DSL router. It fixes a glitch where trying to admin your shared connection using Netscape browsers would return a 'server busy' error. You could also terminate connections without ever having to log in! The updater fixed the problem." Asante Tech Support added: "This Upgrade fixes a problem with faster Mac's using Netscape 4.5 or higher logging into the Router. We do not have detailed information on what else this upgrade fixes." This update is available on the Asante Web site. A 1.88 beta version is also listed.
