The FBI is debating whether it should tell Apple about the iPhone 5C hack, but it is spilling some secrets to US senators.

FBI director James Comey told an audience at Ohio's Kenyon College that the method used to break into a locked iPhone 5C won't work on newer iPhone models. The agency didn't need to go to court to force Apple to create a backdoor, but an upcoming anti-encryption bill may force the hand of tech companies to comply in the future. CNET Update explains:
