Argos offers ace £140 PS Vita bundle until Tuesday

There's a bargain to be had if you're after a PS Vita, but hurry, the deal ends on Tuesday.

Amazingly great bargain alert! Argos is currently offering the PS Vita handheld, along with two games and a memory card for just £139.99, Eurogamer reports. Some shops charge more than that just for the console alone.

Your £140 gets you the 3G-equipped Vita along with Killzone Mercenary and Virtua Tennis 4, plus an 8GB memory card. Not too shabby. But you'd better hurry if you want to snap it up, as the deal ends on Tuesday. Which is also the day of the Apple announcement. My poor wallet.

Another deal offers a PS Vita, FIFA 14, and a year's subscription to PlayStation Plus for £189.98.

Sony dropped the price of the PS Vita at the end of August, just before it announced the Vita PCH-2000. This is a budget version of the handheld, with a cheaper LCD rather than an OLED screen. It's also 20 per cent thinner and 15 per cent lighter, and has 1GB internal storage. The PCH-2000 launched in Japan last week in a range of colours. We're still awaiting a UK release date, if indeed it ever makes it to these shores.

It's thought Sony is looking to boost the number of PS Vitas in circulation ahead of the PS4 launch. The PS4 will use the Vita as a second screen, a feature Sony's keen to push. We could even see the PS Vita bundled with the PS4, though this hasn't been confirmed.

Sony isn't the only one offering a budget handheld console. Nintendo recently unveiled the 2DS, a cheap and cheerful (and two-dimensional) alternative to the 3DS.

Will you snap up a cheap Vita bundle over the weekend? Or do you play games on your phone more nowadays? Who'll win between the PS4 and Xbox One? Let me know in the comments, or over on our Facebook page.
