AppleWorks 6.2.9 printing bug

AppleWorks 6.2.9 printing bug

CNET staff

Scott Newman reports a printing bug in AppleWorks 6.2.9 for which we are seeking confirmation:

:Create any type of standard, full-page graphics document (PICT, JPEG, PDF). The easiest way is to open any one-page document in any application and save it as a PDF file (in Mac OS X).

"Then open that PDF file as a drawing document in Appleworks 6.2.9 under Mac OS X (or import into a blank drawing document). Then add either a text layer or spreadsheet layer on top of the graphics layer. It has to be on top of the graphic, even a blank white space in the graphic. Put some stuff into your text or spreadsheet layer and then print the document.

"When I print to either a Lexmark Z53 inkjet or HP 4100 or 4000 Laserjet from either a Powerbook (15", 867) or white iBook (700mhz, 16 VRAM), both running OS X 10.2.6, the added text or spreadsheet layers doesn't print. It's saved with the document but doesn't print. Previous versions of Appleworks under OS X didn't have this problem.
