AppleWorks 6.1.2 and saving files in Word format: a follow-up

CNET staff
We still have problems getting the MacLinkPlus translators included with AppleWorks 6.1.2 to save files in Word format (see previous coverage). All suggested work-arounds (including deleting older versions of the MacLinkPlus extensions and rebuilding the desktop) have not worked for us.

We asked DataViz about this and they replied: "You would need to contact Apple about your experience with AppleWorks and our MacLinkPlus translators. Although we created the translator and licensed them to Apple, we do not do technical support for our translators within AppleWorks. The simple reason is that they treat our translators differently than we do (adding their own special code). When we integrate with AppleWorks (with full versions of MacLinkPlus) it is all done through File Exchange."

So far, Apple has not posted a solution to this in their TIL.
