Apple's USB DDK docs say that new Power Macs are coming this "summer"

Apple has released Mac OS USB DDK 1.4.4f4. It is for developmental purposes only. Eventually, the changes and improvements in this DDK are incorporated into the next version of the USB software for end-users, typically as part of a Mac OS update (it's now built-in to the Mac OS ROM file). Ronald Leroux spotted the following intriguing statement in the documentation that came with the DDK: "Apple is formally qualifying USB 1.4.4 on the Macintosh systems with built-in USB, scheduled for release in Summer 2000. The 1.4.4 release is designed for USB to support the Summer 2000 Power Macintosh systems. No new functionality nor bug fixes were implemented in this release." This, of course, suggests that these new Macs will be announced at Macworld Expo on Wednesday. Interestingly, when we went to download this software, to check on Ronald's info, the 1.4.4 link now downloaded version 1.4.3. However, the 1.4.4 software is still on the ftp site. (Thanks, Paul Schilling.)
