Apple Watch is a waste of time, says Conan O'Brien

Technically Incorrect: As O'Brien's sidekick, Andy Richter, shows him the intricacies of the Apple Watch, Conan is more convinced than ever that it's useless.

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

You've probably been hard at practice.

You've been poking at your wrist and talking to it.

How quickly will you become used to it? How quickly will your Apple Watch become used to you? This was the conundrum exposed last night by Conan O'Brien's sidekick, Andy Richter.

Proudly sporting an (entirely fake) Apple Watch, he proceeded to walk Conan through the whole fandango of its uses.

Naturally, he started with telling the time. Which took even longer than Conan's lament after leaving NBC.

Things didn't quite go according to plan. This left Richter musing not that the watch was defective but that "I must be doing something wrong."

Wearing it wrong? Touching it wrong? Speaking to it wrong?

It didn't get any better. Even after Richter called Apple customer support to understand what he was doing wrong.

Conan became more and more pained that this supposed new, new thing didn't even work as well as any old, old thing.

In the end, the frustration became too much and the watch was dumped and dunked.

Having tried the Watch in real life -- or at least in a demo version that didn't actually work very well and wasn't sold very well -- I think people will have a little more amusement with it than did Conan and Richter.

Still, it's a fashion item first and a tech product second. So as long as you wear it well, the rest will be sorted out. In time.
