Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

If there's one thing your mom wants on Mother's Day, it's to see you.

Failing that, I feel sure that the next best thing is seeing you in an Apple ad.

Moms want their kids to be famous. That way, the kid might provide for mom when she's tired of being mom.

So Apple has come up with an ingenious way for you to insert yourself into its new Mother's Day ad.

You might have already seen this ad.

It's a poignant montage of images and videos of moms and kids shot on iPhone. (That's iPhone in the plural, you understand.)

With Apple's MomsShotOniPhone.com site, you give your first name and upload a picture. You then see it as the last picture of the Apple Mother's Day ad.

The last frame of the custom-made ad is a title: "Happy Mother's Day, Love Zuck."

Well, that's the name I used when I tried, as you can see.

Once your video is done, you're encouraged to post it to Facebook. If I didn't, it warned me that the video would be lost forever. "This content is no longer available," it said.

What a gorgeous presager of the future, when Facebook will be the Internet and everything will happen there. Or else.

Those not moved by sentimentalism might be amused by the disclaimer over the end title of the custom-made ad.

It reads: "Final photo may not have been shot on iPhone."

Apple's lawyers are nothing if not fine tuners.
