Apple unveils iTunes Latino

New portal in the company's online store highlights Latino music, television shows and videos.

Apple Computer has added a new portal to its iTunes store that highlights Latino entertainment.

Latin music has been highly successful on iTunes, which is why the company decided to create an area dedicated to the category on the iTunes store, Apple said in a statement.

The iTunes Latino section lists the top-selling songs and albums from Latino artists, as well as links to Spanish-language television programs, videos, audiobooks and podcasts.

While the iTunes store previously featured Latino music and Spanish-language content, the new portal lists Latino music, playlists from Latino celebrities and iTunes Essentials recommendations in Spanish.

Telemundo television network shows "Pasion de Gavilanes," "El Cuerpo del Deseo," and "Decisiones" have also been added.

Many of the site's menu titles, however, remain in English and link back to the English-language version of the relevant playlist. The celebrity playlists menu, for example, lists David Bisbal and Ozomatli under the menu title "Playlist de Famosos," but links to the general iTunes Web page for celebrity playlists.
