Apple to expand recycling
Apple will allow U.S.-based purchasers of new Macintosh systems to ship their old computer for free to its recycling program.
Apple Computer will expand its free computer-recycling program, the Mac maker said Friday. Apple will allow U.S.-based purchasers of new Macintosh systems to ship their old computer for free to its recycling program beginning in June.
Buyers of the new Mac computers, however, must purchase their system through either an Apple retail store or its online e-commerce site. Apple currently operates a free U.S. recycling program at its Cupertino, Calif., headquarters, where people can drop off their old computers and certain home electronics.
