Updated: Coverage change. The live event was not publicized heavily, though the Apple blog sites have picked up the story Friday (presumably to keep stress off the AT&T network). The event raised interest in Apple's recently released HTTP streaming protocol, engineered to optimize streaming technologies for environments that are generally difficult to maintain streams, such as mobile phones. Should this demonstration be successful, we could see an influx of developers implementing the protocol for applications for the iPhone.
