A MacWEEK article covering last week's MacHack conference reports that Apple representatives gave a "flat 'no' when he asked if Apple would release HyperCard into the open-source arena." Consistent with this, Catherine Kunicki informs us that Jacqueline Landman Gay (of HyperActive) states: "I am quite sure Apple will not open-source the code, and I am also sure they won't sell it to another company. They've had a few offers for both options and refused them all." In other words, the future of HyperCard is that it has no future.
