Apple rolls out iOS 7-inspired iCloud.com redesign
Web portal discards dark linen background for soft blue background with icons like those found in Apple's new mobile operating system.
On the eve of the launch of iOS 7, Apple relaunched its iCloud.com services Web site on Tuesday with a redesigned user interface that takes its visual cues from the new version of the company's mobile operating system.
First previewed in beta earlier this summer, the Web portal has dumped the dark linen background for a soft blue background sporting blurred orbs. Icons have also been redesigned for Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, and Find my iPhone Web apps to match the new animated background found in iOS 7.
The new site, which appears to be available to all, also features iWork for iCloud -- the browser-based version of Apple's suite of mobile productivity apps that include Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Apple said last week it would give away the mobile version for any new version of iOS device buyers, including iPads, iPhones, and fifth-generation iPod Touches.
iOS fans can download the newest operating system for their mobile devices beginning tomorrow. Apple's first major redesign of its iOS since the iPhone's debut in 2007, iOS 7 is available only for the iPhone 4 and later, the iPad 2 and later, the iPad Mini, and the fifth generation of the iPod Touch.
