Apple has released Security Update 2005-009 for Mac OS X 10.4.3 and Mac OS X 10.3.9, both server and client editions. The update includes delivers a number of security enhancements and, according to Apple, is recommended for all Macintosh users.
For Mac OS X 10.4.3 Client, this release includes updates to the following components:

- OpenSSL
- Safari

Security Update 2005-009 for Mac OS X 10.4.3 Client is a 5 MB download.

Update recommendations As usual, we recommend that users avoid performing any other operations (in Mac OS X or third-party applications) while the update process is occurring.
To further increase your chances of a smooth update process, follow these instructions:
- Boot from the OS X Install CD and run Disk Utility's Repair Disk function (or use a third-party drive utility such as DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro).
- When booted from the volume containing Mac OS X, run Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions function.
- Install the update.
- After rebooting, again run Repair Disk Permissions.
