Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.5.7

Apple has released the much anticipated 10.5.7 update to Mac OS X. In addition to including the latest security fixes, the software update addresses issues in the following areas:

Apple has released the much anticipated 10.5.7 update to Mac OS X. Among including the latest security fixes, the software update addresses issues in the following areas:

  • Video performance with Nvidia graphics
  • Widget reliability
  • Various website compatibility (Gmail and Yahoo)
  • Improves network performance
  • Finder searching improved for network volumes
  • Directory Service and Client Management improvements

In addition to improvements in the core system, the update addresses problems in iCal, Mail, Parental Controls, and Printing. The update should be available in Software Update, and we expect standalone delta and combo updaters to be available in the Apple Downloads page soon: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to back up your software and data before updating your system!!! Use Time Machine, and manually start a backup, or use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to create a bootable clone of your drive before applying the update.
