Apple has announced the immediate availability of updates across its all-in-one iMac desktop range.
The entry-level iMac is now priced at AU$1599, featuring this year's quad-core 2.7GHz Core i5 processor (boosts to 3.2GHz), with Intel's newest Iris Pro built-in graphics, a 1TB hard drive and 8GB of RAM. This can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM and either a 1TB Fusion Drive, Apple's hybrid drive technology or the hard drive can be replaced with up to a 512GB SSD. All models come with an upgrade to 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
The 21.5-inch model can be specced up to a 3.1GHz Core i7 (boosts to 3.6GHz), Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics, with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, a 1TB Fusion Drive and 16GB of RAM for AU$2569.
The bigger 27-inch iMac starts at AU$2199 for a 3.2GHz Core i7 (boosts to 3.6GHz), Nvidia GeForce GT 755M graphics, with a 1TB hard drive and 8GB of RAM. The top-end model can be upgraded quite significantly across the board, with up to a 3.5GHz Core i7 (boosts to 3.9GHz), Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M, with 4GB of GDDR5 memory, a 3TB Fusion Drive and up to 32GB of RAM. That's going to cost you, though, at AU$4049. A 1TB SSD option is also available at further cost.
Since March this year, Apple has also offered iMac models with built-in VESA mount support, so any of the above can be ordered for mounted purposes. This variation adds AU$46 to the cost.
Standard configurations are listed as shipping within 24 hours, while any modifications add a two- to three-week shipping delay.
