Joe has been writing about consumer tech for nearly seven years now, but his liking for all things shiny goes back to the Gameboy he received aged eight (and that he still plays on at family gatherings, much to the annoyance of his parents). His pride and joy is an Infocus projector, whose 80-inch picture elevates movie nights to a whole new level.

Apple will hold a private memorial for co-founder Steve Jobs tomorrow evening, The Wall Street Journal reports. It will be held at Stanford University, where Jobs gave his legendary 2005 commencement speech.

A small private funeral was held for Jobs last week.

Attendees are expected to include industry bigwigs and those close to Jobs. An Apple spokesperson confirmed a private service to the paper, but didn't give any other details.

Those attending were asked to respond to Emerson Collective, a philanthropic organisation established by Jobs' wife, Laurene Powell Jobs.

Apple will hold a separate event for employees on its Cupertino campus on Wednesday, with other plans to be made for employees worldwide.

"Although many of our hearts are still heavy, we are planning a celebration of [Steve Jobs'] life for Apple employees to take time to remember the incredible things Steve achieved in his life and the many ways he made our world a better place," read the internal memo from chief executive Tim Cook, announcing the employee event.

Tributes to Jobs include a song composed entirely of sounds from Apple devices and quotes from Jobs himself, as well as testimonials from statesmen, actors, and technology giants. You can read our obituary here.
