Apple drops KidSafe; cites low usage

CNET staff
Apple sent out an email over the week-end stating:

"We regret that we are discontinuing the KidSafe service due to low customer usage. Please follow the instructions below to quickly and easily remove KidSafe from your computer system. It will only take a few minutes.

The KidSafe installation process places several components in your system. To remove them, while logged in to your Mac as an admin user:

    1. Open Sherlock 2 and search your hard disk for the word KidSafe. This will locate the KidSafe system extension and the KidSafe Internet Search Site plug-in. Drag these items to the Trash.
    2. Restart your computer and then empty the Trash. Once these steps are completed, the KidSafe software will be fully uninstalled from your system."

Details are also posted on the KidSafe page. KidSafe joins iReview as the second iTools service dropped since iTools first debuted.
